안녕! ^^

So, this is my first blog post…

Actually, it isn’t my first. When I first arrived in Korea, I set up a blog to keep my friends and family up-to-date with everything in my life. However as I started settling into my life here, everything started to seem so much more normal and I didnt feel like I needed to write about it. If something amazing happened, I would simple call or write people to talk about it.

The funny thing is about life, when you start to get used to things, you notice less and less of the things that intrigued you before. I, on the other hand, haven’t lost touch with the things that astound me here. This is why I am going to start writing about my life here more and all the wonderful things that it entails.

I have been in Bucheon, South Korea for a year now and I still can’t believe how time has flown while Ive been here. Though i still think its pretty awful, my Korean has significantly improved and I can say and understand so much more than when i first started. Something I am going to add to this blog is at least three new Korean words with every post to help both myself and anyone who reads it.

There is still so much that I plan on doing in Korea this spring and summer and I am looking forward to seeing even more of this beautiful country. Here is a brief summary of some of the things I have gotten up to in the past year…

Bungee-jumping, beach parties in Haeundae, mud festivals in Boryeong, fish markets in Geoje-do, hiking in Seoraksan, late nights in Hongdae, DJ shows in itaewon, visiting traditional houses in Insadong, hitting the slopes at Vivaldi Park, K-Pop concerts and the most insane tea cup ride ever at Lotte World, midnight shopping in Dongdaemun, World Cup Fever, seeing North Korea at the Demilitarized Zone, numerous nights ending in Noraebang…..

In between all of this, I have met some amazing people and friends that will last a lifetime. I will write more about these people and everyday experience, so that whoeevr reads this, can get a feel for how great of an experience and country this is.
